Lovin Spray Paint

I love, love, love this spray paint!!! It has texture to it that makes anything look like wrought iron. I think it is amazing what they have done with spray paint these days!

I had this metal basket and it was a cream color and didn't go very well with my decor. I unfortunately forgot to take a before picture. I am so sorry about that. I love to see the before and afters. I had considered putting it in a rummage sale and then remembered this spray paint. I have used it before and loved the results.

I then went to Hobby Lobby and bought some artichokes on sale 1/2 price and filled it up!

I love the way it turned out and have it currently resting on my dining room table. I am not sure where it will eventually end up, but for now, I like it here. The next basket is another one I painted quite some time back. I filled it with fruit and it sits behind my corner sink.

I am now looking for other things to spray! I am having so much fun with this paint!!!

Hope you guys are having a great day!!

To Buy or Not to Buy, That is the Question!!!

A few months ago I went to Garden Ridge and found this beautiful fabric. It has all the colors that I enjoy putting in my home, the olive greens, golds and deep reds. I debated whether to buy it or not. I thought it would make beautiful throw pillows for a couch but my couch is plaid and would clash. I kept trying to think of something to make but couldn't think of ANYTHING! Finally, since I was getting 2 yards for only 6 BUCKS I just couldn't pass it by!!

I finally came up with an idea to make some runners for my tables. I went to my local Tuesday Morning and bought some tassels and made a runner for my entry table. I never realized I needed anything on this table but now I just love it. I can't imagine my table without it. Tuesday Morning has some very nice tassels and they are very affordable.

I also made one for my dining room table. Boy, were my tables missing something!

I just love my table runners and believe it or not I still have some fabric left. I have some boring bar stools that I want to recover the seat cushion with. My only problem now is getting the dear hubby to get one fixed. It broke sometime around January and it is still on my honey-do list! As soon as I get it fixed I will show you what they look like. I hope you all have a great weekend. I am getting ready to go have lunch with my sweet hubby and then off to do some Goodwill shopping. I am hoping for some great finds!!

From Blah to Ahhh!

We built our new home about 5 years ago and I just love it. At one point my doors were white which gave me a huge expanse of white across the front. Last summer I decided to paint the door black and just love it. But something was still lacking.

The last few summers I have bought real trees and placed on both sides of the door but sadly, they have died. So this year I got smart!

I know what some of you are thinking. Gasp, fake trees!! But they look so real and I planted vinca vine and impatiens around the sides.

I love the way they turned out!

Mom's Tree Shines

I have officially finished with my Christmas decorating (with the exception of my dining room table. I can't decide what I want to do with it yet.) but the weather has been so dreary here that I am having a hard time getting some good pics. So I decided to try to get some this weekend and show you my Mom's tree for now.
This is my Mom's tree in her den. I decorated this tree several weeks ago.

This is a close-up of all her lovely ornaments (that I hope to inherit some day). lol

I sure hope the weather cooperates so I can show you the rest of my home next week.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Welcome to my home for Christmas

Welcome! I am joining Susan today at Thoughts From Over The Rainbow for her Deck the Halls party. I have been very busy but unfortunately I am not finished. I guess I should not say unfortunately because actually I am enjoying myself, but I think my family will be glad when I'm done! This is our main tree in our Great Room. Usually I decorate it in burgundy and gold but this year opted for red and gold.
A little close-up!
This is a close-up of our mantle. I bought this little Santa on his rocking horse at Hallmark after Christmas last year.

I am in love with this little tree. I put this tree in my dining room last year but wanted to do something different with it this year. I decided to put it in an urn that usually goes outside. I used to have 2 little trees on both sides of my front door but unfortunately they both died. So, I got this bright idea to put my little tree in it. I just love it!! What do you think?

Just a little close-up of my little tree in our dining room.

I hope you enjoyed my tour. I will add more pictures as I finish.
Happy Decorating.

Going, going, almost gone!

This is the last of my fall pictures. They will not be around long. I am so anxious to decorate for Christmas! I plan on at least getting my tree put up this weekend, hopefully decorated but I doubt it. I decorated 2 Christmas trees this last weekend, one for my mom and her friend. I will have pictures of my mom's tree soon but I forgot to take my camera to her friends. This weekend is the opening of the movie New Moon which my son is dying to see so I know that is in the forecast for this weekend. I have to make time for family since I spent all last weekend working on trees for everyone else.
This is a closeup view of my piesafe that is in my breakfast nook.

A little fall in my china cabinet ......

and a little fall in my great room over my entertainment center.

Hope everyone has had a Safe and Happy Fall!
